ADI HUG- Association of Development and intervention ABRAZO
Our entity was established on September 1, 1999 with the name of Asociación Cultural San Mateo, on January 30, 2012 the name of the entity was changed to
ABRAZO Development and Intervention Association with the aim of expanding its aims and its scope of intervention.
To do this, ADI Abrazo works with families and in coordination with other organizations and institutions, especially in the process of emancipation of minors under the care of the Community of Madrid, so that they can begin adult life with guarantees.
We work as a team with professionals from different specialties: infant educators, teachers, special education teachers, psychologists, pedagogues, social workers, psychomotorists, educators
On our horizon, we intend:
- Accompany the personal and development processes of children who are victims of situations of socioeconomic inequality, abuse, physical and / or emotional abandonment, who have to benefit from a protection measure, working with families in coordination with other institutions (Project Sole Intervention).
- Accompany the process of emancipation of the boys and girls tutored by the Community of Madrid, who upon turning 18 cannot return home.
- Accompany the overall development of minors, detecting difficulties, pathologies or inappropriate processes, seeking strategies and providing them with resources in order to overcome them.
- Collaborate in the training of volunteers inside and outside our association, working together with associations and institutions.
- Participate in a reflective and critical way in our society, in all those proposals related to our field of action.
- Collaborate in the construction of a just, egalitarian, critical, supportive society, committed to the environment, in which we all have the same educational, employment, health ...; we all find our living space and can develop it.
We develop two programs:
San Mateo Home 10-bed residential resource for girls and boys from 0 to 18 years old with a social protection measure from the General Directorate of Childhood, Family and Birth (DGIFN) of the Community of Madrid
Psychomotor Service relational therapeutic and reeducational in different educational centers in Madrid in collaboration with Cáritas Madrid.
